The lifting hook of the tower crane should be equipped with a safety device to prevent unhooking.

 

According to 2.1.1 of the "Safety Regulations for Crane Equipment", the lifting hook must have technical certification documents such as the manufacturer's certificate before it can be put into use. Otherwise, it should be inspected and found to be qualified before use.

 

During use, inspection, maintenance, and scrapping should be carried out in accordance with the relevant requirements of this regulation.

A load test should be conducted on newly put into use hooks. The test load should be 1.25 times the rated load (which can be conducted simultaneously with the dynamic and static load test of the crane), and the test time should not be less than 10 minutes.

 

After the load is removed, there should be no cracks, fractures, or deformations on the hook. If there are any, they should be scrapped. The standard stipulates that after hanging and removing the test load, the opening of the hook should not exceed 0.25% without any significant defects or deformation. In order to prevent unhooking and accidents, the hook should be equipped with a safety device to prevent unhooking.
